Pie Ladies

The Pie Ladies have been making pies for 30 years as a fundraiser for the church. The work is all volunteer. They also prepare & freeze fresh fruit that is donated to them.  Pies are $10.00 each, fluted crusts are $2.00 each, and flat crusts are $1.50.  Pies are usually made on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. The baking days do vary with the holidays, and then the ladies work extra Mondays.  They make several kinds of fruit pies and soft pies.  There are always pies in the freezer for sale. You can call and place your order at the church office, or speak with one of the pie ladies or Pam Recker (319-480-7700) at any time.  Pies can be purchased baked or unbaked. There is a selection of both in the freezer.  If we don't have the flavor of pie that you want, we will try our best to find the recipe and make it for you.  Some of our special flavors are - tripleberry and bumbleberry, apple/red raspberry, peach/red raspberry, peach/cherry, just to name a few, besides all of the regular fruit pies.  Pecan and pumpkin are favorites around the holiday season.
